Mahadev himself established Kashi. It is considered the city of liberation- where those who pass away within its sacred boundaries are guaranteed release from the cycle of birth, life, death, and rebirth; known as the cycle of samsara.
As one of Sanatana Dharma's seven holy cities, or Sapta Puri, Kashi exists beyond the end of the world- untouched by cosmic dissolution. Kashi is a city of great spiritual and cultural significance in Bharat. It is one of the world's oldest continuously inhabited cities. Situated on the banks Maa Ganga, it provides a deep connection to age-old traditions and a tangible sense of positive energy. One of the many reasons to visit Kashi is to experience the Ganga Aarti.
Spiritual Essence
Kashi is revered across Sanatana Dharma and Buddhism, and its significance is rooted in its dedication to Mahadev. The Kashi Vishwanath Temple is one of the 12 jyotirlings, and draws devotees to seek Mahadev's blessings. They come to perform ancient rituals and immerse themselves in the sacred waters of Maa Ganga, pursuing liberation from the cycle of rebirth.
